Clear View Farms Barn
Clear View Farms was established in 1941. At that time the owner, Clark Rink, moved this barn and a house from a nearby farm and placed them in their current location on his new farm. When moved, the barn was placed upon a pre-constructed foundation and a new lower level stable. This fact explains the extra height of the overall barn.
The added height required the over-sized earthen ramp approach to reach the wagon doors of the upper level. A shed-roofed addition was later attached to the gambrel end.
Recently the farm was sold to a young couple with children. While working in the barn the young farmer found a note and signature of the barn builders. It was written on the inside of the barn in the upper level. To his astonishment he realized that his Grandfather was one of the two barn builders!
May 2012, I set up to complete a plein air oil painting. It was very early in the morning. My goal was to capture the glow of morning light on the east end. Cool light danced in the shadows. I chose an 18 x 24 inch canvas.
All the barn paintings are for sale. Please contact Gwen to find out if the painting(s) you are interested in are sold or available.
