Jennings-Kimberlin Barn

The beautiful property where this barn is located was deeded to the Governor Jennings family in 1804. The original deed, on sheepskin, doesn't give a date for the barn; however, the nearby home was built in 1857. The barn was most likely built just prior to this date or soon thereafter. The barn and farm have changed ownership only once since 1804.

Improvements and repairs have been made to the barn over time. The barn is currently used for housing cattle and storing equipment.

It was a beautiful spring day in May 2009, when I set up my plein air supplies and completed an oil painting of this barn. The natural patina of the unpainted wood siding offered a variety of subtle hues throughout.

Contrasting those hues with the cool morning colors was a joy to develop. I was enthralled by the setting and chose an 18 x 24 inch canvas.

All the barn paintings are for sale.  Please contact Gwen to find out if the painting(s) you are interested in are sold or available.
