Keith Pfoff Barn

Located on a hill on the outskirts of Vincennes, this old dairy barn provided an abundant amount of dairy products for this area of Knox County.

The east end has a large hay door with a massive hay hood to protect it. It is this end that is shown in the early morning painting. The hay door slides down rails that would have been operated from within the hayloft, using a pulley and rope system.

This barn has been made into a very unique home. Due to its large size, only part of the barn's space is needed. The massive timbers of the barn are one of the main attractions of the interior space. It is very impressive and unique. The owner has every intention of expanding the living areas to include even more of this barn's space.

After several visits to this barn I finally was able to set up my plein air oil painting supplies very early in April 2014. The long morning light held a cool pink glow. Many spring flowers were blooming in the grass and the willow was just budding its young chartreuse leaves. Perfect. I painted a canvas size 18 x 24 inches.

All the barn paintings are for sale.  Please contact Gwen to find out if the painting(s) you are interested in are sold or available.
