Offutt-Clark-Winkler Dairy Barn

This little barn is all smiles. With a little imagination it appears to have a face! Picturesque countryside surrounds this little barn built in 1925. It was transplanted from its original location onto the top of this gentle hill with an old pasture and woods behind.

The barn is a key feature on land that has been in the family since 1832. The barn has been altered over the years to accommodate trends adopted by the farming family. Currently, the barn is in use as a farrowing house.

The care and attention given to this barn and other historic structures reflects the devotion to family history and heritage.

It was a pleasant September morning in 2011 when I set up my plein air oil painting supplies. I positioned my easel to capture a bit of the rolling hills behind the barn. The glow of morning light on the barn set off the cast shadows and also reflected light into the shadows. I painted a 16 x 20 inch canvas.

All the barn paintings are for sale.  Please contact Gwen to find out if the painting(s) you are interested in are sold or available.
