Hertiage Hills Barn

The Heritage Hills Farm was established in 1875 and has earned the designation of a Hoosier Homestead Farm. It is located along the Iroquois River, north of Kentland.

This farm has been transferred through the female side of the family since that time. The current descendants are the Janet and Rich Miller family; prior family names are Kenoyer, Montgomery and Padgett.

This gable-roofed barn is the second barn that has stood on this farm; it was built in the early 1920s. The center Dutch door on the gable end leads to a passageway through the length of the barn. Stables and grain storage areas line each side of this central walkway.

This well-loved and maintained barn has lived through years of changes on the farm. It has housed milk cows, horses, and cattle through its many years.

I arrived very early one morning in October 2009. It was a bit foggy which presented some interesting and softened colors in the illuminated areas and also in the shadows. I chose an 18 x 24 inch canvas for this oil painting.

All the barn paintings are for sale.  Please contact Gwen to find out if the painting(s) you are interested in are sold or available.
