M. Mullis Barn

French Ridge spreads east to west above Sulphur Fork Creek in central Perry County. It is a beautiful area of sweeping hill and gentle valleys. This barn enjoys a spectacular view from its perch on a hill on the Mullis farm.

Many barns in southern Indiana like this one are unpainted. The vertical siding has grayed over the years, developing a rich patina.

The age of this barn is unknown. It is built of sizeable sawmill-cut timbers and pegged. Some of the timbers still hold on to scraps of bark. The barn is well-maintained and well-used.

I visited this farm in June 2015. It was a pleasure to enjoy the panoramic views while coming up the driveway. At that time I gathered sketches, notes and photos to complete the 18 x 24 inch oil painting in my studio in August 2015.

All the barn paintings are for sale.  Please contact Gwen to find out if the painting(s) you are interested in are sold or available.
