Normandy Farms Barn

The barn shown in this painting is the smaller of the two barns from the Krannert farm complex established in 1934. The larger barn has been moved to the Indiana State Fair Grounds and houses The Center for Agricultural Science and Heritage.

Included on the farm with the two very progressive dairy barns were multiple outbuildings as well as the family residence. In the 1930s, the farm was considered one of the most advanced dairy farming operations in the United States.
This beautiful and stately barn remains on the original site and is being preserved and maintained by its current owner.

I sketched this barn in the fall of 2004, making accurate notes on subtle colors, and then completed the oil painting in my studio in February 2005. Canvas size is 12 x 24 inches.

All the barn paintings are for sale.  Please contact Gwen to find out if the painting(s) you are interested in are sold or available.
