Rinehart Family Barn

This family farm located in western Howard County has been home to the Rinehart family for over 150 years. This barn is a "newer" addition to the farm and dates to 1934 when the previous older barn was struck by lightning and destroyed.

The Rinehart family treasures their history and their barn; it is very well-maintained. The timbers were harvested on the farm, adding merit to its history as a homegrown treasure.

Although used for dairy in its earlier years, it has changed to meet evolving farming trends.

Early morning was going to present the best light on this eastern-facing barn. I often left my home before dawn to arrive on location in time to capture the treasured first light. The day was vibrant. This oil painting was completed in August 2014. Canvas size 14 x 24 inches.

All the barn paintings are for sale.  Please contact Gwen to find out if the painting(s) you are interested in are sold or available.
